MANAGER Paul Leach is a hugely experienced horseman who was first jockey to David Barons and Martin Pipe in his days as a jockey. Paul enjoyed many big race victories including: King or Country (1978 Mildmay of Flete Chase, Cheltenham), Bootlaces (1980 Schweppes Gold Trophy, Newbury), Baron Blakeney (1981 Triumph Hurdle, Cheltenham), Corporal Clinger (1985 Bula Hurdle, Cheltenham and Swinton Hurdle, Haydock). When Paul retired from riding he remained as a key member of Martin Pipe's staff and also held his own training licence for a spell before joining forces with racehorse owner William Harrison-Allan at Baycliffe Farm. There is no disguising Paul's enthusiasm for his important role preparing horses for some of the country's leading stables. He says "I'm really enjoying the challenge of bringing on promising youngsters to the point where they can be running in races within a month of leaving us. We are lucky to have the facilities you will find in most racing stables including a variety of gallops."
